En este artículo se propone abordar el texto de Mario Payeras a partir de sus dimensiones
narrativa, formal y estética. También se considera el contexto histórico y político de
su producción y sus relaciones intertextuales. Se plantea la hipótesis de que la obra de
Payeras es un esbozo de un programa político alternativo frente al fracaso del proyecto
guerrillero guatemalteco. La base de dicho esbozo programático es el balance crítico y
autocrítico de la opción armada que realiza en la obra, y la propuesta de crear una nueva
agenda ecologista/multicultural para la lucha anticapitalista en los tiempos de paz.
This article addresses the work of Mario Payeras from its narrative, formal and aesthetic dimensions. The historical and political context in which this work is produced, as well as the established intertextual relations in his work is also taken into account. This contribution claims that Payeras´s work is an outline of a program presented as an alternative to the Guatemala Guerrilla Project. This outline is the result of an evaluation derived from a critical and self critical stance of the armed choices instantiated in his work and the proposal of a new ecologist and multicultural agenda for the anti capitalist struggle in times of peace.
