Abstract(s)
Aim: To summarize the current evidence about the effect of the nordic hamstrings exer-cise, isolated or integrated in injury prevention programs, in the prevalence of injuries in the hamstrings of soccer players. Methodology: Computerized search in the PubMed, Web of Science, Achademic Search Complete, CINAHL Plus with Full Text, SPORT Discus with Full Text and MEDLINE with Full Text databases to select randomized con-trolled trials integrating the nordic hamstrings exercise in isolation or in injury prevention programs, and to evaluate its effect in the prevalence of hamstring injuries in soccer play-ers. Results: 5 studies met the defined eligibility criteria, in a total sample of 5057 ath-letes, where most of the results demonstrated a positive effect of the nordic exercise. Conclusion: there is evidence that the nordic exercise, either individually or as part of an injury prevention program, reduces the prevalence of hamstring injuries in soccer players.
