dc.description.abstractAs infeções oculares são infeções causadas por microrganismos como bactérias, fungos, parasitas e vírus. No presente trabalho começa-se por fazer uma breve introdução a anatomia do olho para melhor perceber onde atuam os microrganismos causadores da infeção e onde os danos são causados. Também se faz referência aos principais tipos de infeção e distinção entre eles. Aborda-se igualmente os principais agentes patogénicos característicos de cada tipo de infeção, que é bastante importante para identificar o tratamento mais adequado pois este vai ser diferente, dependendo do tipo de microrganismo causador de infeção. Nesta dissertação também se dá grande importância à terapêutica utilizada falando-se de antibacterianos, antifúngicos, antivíricos e antiparasitários e dentro destas classes fala-se dos principais fármacos, dos mecanismos de ação, em que tipo microrganismos são eficazes e efeitos adversos causados por estes.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractOcular infections are infections caused by microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, parasites and viruses. The present work begins with a brief introduction to the anatomy of the eye to better understand where microorganisms that cause infection operate and where the damage is caused. It also makes reference to main types of infection and distinction between them. It also discusses the major pathogens characteristic of each type of infection, which is very important to identify the better treatment that will be different depending on the type of microorganism causing the infection. This thesis also gives great importance to the treatment used, speaking about antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antiparasitic and within these classes are speech, the main drugs, mechanisms of action, what kind microorganisms are effective and adverse effects caused by them.pt_PT
