A má oclusão Classe III, é uma anomalia que afeta os indivíduos a nível estético e que socialmente é importante alterar.
Esta revisão bibliográfica tem como objetivo e estudo da etiologia e diagnóstico da Classe III.
Foi analisada a literatura disponível em várias plataformas de pesquisa e o recurso complementar de livros.
A Classe III apresenta-se como uma anomalia de etiologia ambiental ou hereditária, sendo esta última mais complexa.
A importância do Diagnóstico é relevante, do ponto do sucesso de todo um tratamento que poder estar dependente dele. Todas as áreas, devem ser abrangidas, desde o diagnóstico Facial, Dentário, Funcional, Hereditário e Cefalométrico, sendo este último imprescindível das pretensões deste trabalho foi tentar perceber a implicação de métodos diferentes para um mesmo propósito, tendo concluído que os pacientes podem ser classificados esqueleticamente de forma diferente dependendo da análise cefalométrica utilizada.
Class III malocclusion is an anomaly that affects individuals aesthetically and which is socially important to alter. This literature review aims to study the etiology and diagnosis of Class III. We reviewed the literature available on various research platforms and the complementary resource of books. Class III presents as an anomaly of environmental etiology or heredity, the latter being more complex. The importance of diagnosis is relevant, from the point of success of any treatment may be dependent on it. All areas should be covered, from the Facial, Dental, Functional, Hereditary and Cephalometric diagnosis, the latter being essential to the pretensions of this work, which was to try to understand the implication of different methods for the same purpose, having concluded that patients can be classified skeletally differently depending on the cephalometric analysis used.
