Abstract(s)
A estética é uma ciência regida por normas específicas, o médico dentista tem a obrigação de
conhecer essas regras antes de começar qualquer análise ou tratamento.
Será retratado neste trabalho, os diferentes critérios estéticos a analisar em pacientes de forma
a conferir aos mesmos um sorriso o mais harmonioso possível, normas e regras através das
quais é possível ao clínico construir um sorriso adequado a cada paciente.
Conceitos introduzidos por David Sarver como a macro, micro e mini estética, ajudam ao
clínico a estruturar a sua análise do sorriso. Estes retratam a análise do sorriso de fora para
dentro, iniciando a construção de um sorriso pela sua arquitetura esquelética e terminando na
translucidez do esmalte dentário.
Apesar disto existem naturalmente expetativas individuais de cada paciente que não devem
ser ignoradas pelo clínico, devendo apenas ser dado ao paciente a informação necessária para
tomar um decisão informada.
As aesthetics is a science, governed by specific rules and the dentist should know every one of them, before initiating any analysis or prosthetic treatment. In this paper, we will detail each aesthetic criteria that needs to be analyzed on a patient, as well as the norms and standard values, needed to obtain the most aesthetic and harmonious smile possible for each of them. The concepts introduced by David Sarver known as macro, micro and mini-aesthetics help the clinician structure the smile's analysis. They allows a deep and complete analysis, from a construction of the smile by its squeletical architecture to the opacity of the dental enamel. As it exists for each individual a different expectation, the clinician should never ignores those and should always give every informations the patient needs to take an informed decision.
