Abstract(s)

The methodology was carried out by searching the PubMed, Cochrane Library and Mendeley databases. The search was subjected to inclusion and exclusion criteria and the studies were selected according to the PRISMA criteria. Of the 187 articles, thirteen studies were included. Risk of bias was assessed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) tool. Four studies showed a positive relationship, four a negative relationship and five found no significant relationship between dental caries and obesity. The relationship between obesity and childhood dental caries remains inconclusive, and the implementation of comprehensive preventive strategies and well-designed future studies are essential to effectively address these conditions.
