Abstract(s)
Agenesis is one of the most common developmental anomalies in humans. The etiopathogenesis of hypodontia of the upper lateral incisors is not yet fully understood, with genetic etiology being an isolated factor. This type of agenesis has a high aesthetic and functional impact, not only for the affected individuals, but also for health professionals, who face a great challenge in the planning of their treatment. It is the orthodontist who has the task of establishing the diagnosis and treatment plan considered multidisciplinary given the scope in other fields, such as Implantology or Prosthodontics. The purpose of this literature review is to analyze and conclude the best therapeutic approach to be used in these patients. A bibliographic search was carried out in electronic search engines, namely PubMed, B-on and Google Academic.
