Os sistemas de classificação são, hoje em dia, uma ferramenta essencial para a organização de uma biblioteca, pois permitem ordenar os documentos por assunto tendo por base uma notação específica. A Classificação Decimal Universal (CDU) foi o sistema escolhido pela Biblioteca da UFP para possibilitar aos seus utilizadores e investigadores um acesso mais rápido e consequentemente eficaz aos documentos da biblioteca. The classification systems are, nowadays, a fundamental tool in the organization of libraries. Based on specific notations they organize bibliographic records by subject. The Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) was chosen by the UFP libraries in order to allow its students and researchers a better and faster access to documents.
