Abstract(s)
This study focuses on the development of children and adolescents in institutions, more specifically on the support networks in which they belong and how these networks influence their holistic development. Once an objective had been set, it was necessary to create an ambitious project that would encompass the different phases of the process of institutionalization. This project is based on the voluntary, individual and confidential participation of the technical directors of different care institutions. In order to obtain the data and information needed to prepare the project, semi-structured interviews were conducted. Although there are studies that mention the problems associated with residential care, there is still a need to study this issue in greater depth in order to find solutions and measures that will help to reduce the numbers observed each year in the annual report on the state of residential care. The results obtained therefore relate to understanding the factors that can contribute to applying the measure, to implement more preventive measures in a direct context with the child/young person and the support networks to which they are attached.
