Abstract(s)
Aim: Investigate the effectiveness of hydrotherapy in patients with Parkinson's disease (DP). Methods: A computerized research through PubMed, PEDro and Science Direct databases was conducted to identify the randomized controlled trials (RCT) evaluate the effects of hydrotherapy in patients with PD. Results: In this review were included 7 RCT´s involving 228 patients. They were classified in 7/10, based on Physiotherapy Evidence Database Scale (PEDro). All articles work with a hydrotherapy program in at least one experimental group, in which the comparison between groups revealed that hydrotherapy had significant improvements (p<0.001) in the parameters: timed up and go, gait freezing and Berg balance scale. Conclusion: The studies included suggest that hydrotherapy is an intervention that can positively influence the balance, motor function, gait and quality of life (QV) of individuals with PD and can be integrated into rehabilitation plans, simultaneously with other physiotherapeutic techniques.
