Abstract(s)
A Investigação em Enfermagem tem um papel decisivo no desenvolvimento e na consolidação de novos conhecimentos. Como tal, no âmbito da Licenciatura em Enfermagem da Universidade Fernando Pessoa, foi proposta a realização de um projeto, fazendo este parte dos requisitos para obtenção do grau de licenciado.
Deste modo, o tema abordado no presente trabalho, intitula-se “Automedicação em Alunos do 1º e 3º ano da Licenciatura de Enfermagem da Universidade Fernando Pessoa”.
A automedicação é uma prática que está em crescimento e sendo uma atividade que pode envolver riscos de saúde. Deste modo este projeto tenta compreender o que leva os alunos do 1º e 3º ano da Licenciatura de Enfermagem da UFP a praticar a automedicação, se a praticam de forma segura, quais os medicamentos que usam, em que situações o fazem, qual a frequência com que se automedicam, se têm conhecimento prévio, se procuram saber quais os efeitos adversos e se consideram uma prática segura.
Neste sentido, foi definida a questão de partida do presente estudo: “Saber que alunos do 1º e 3º ano da Licenciatura de Enfermagem da Universidade Fernando Pessoa fazem automedicação e em que condições as praticam?”
O estudo aplicado é um estudo Exploratório-Descritivo de abordagem quantitativa.
Os objetivos deste trabalho foram genericamente saber se os alunos do 1º e 3º ano da Licenciatura de Enfermagem da Universidade Fernando Pessoa fazem automedicação, e conhecer algumas das caraterísticas dessa automedicação.
A amostra foi constituída por 60 alunos do 1º e 3º ano da Licenciatura de Enfermagem da Universidade Fernando Pessoa do Porto.
No que diz respeito ao tratamento dos dados recolhidos, após realizada a respetiva análise e sua discussão, verificou-se que a maior parte dos alunos ingere medicamentos sem prescrição médica, sendo o sexo feminino e o 3º ano curricular aqueles que mais a praticam. A principal causa que leva os alunos a automedicar-se relaciona-se com os sintomas Dor, Constipação/Gripe, Febre e Cefaleias, independentemente do sexo ou ano curricular. Os medicamentos que mais utizam para esta prática são os Analgésicos, Anti-inflamatórios e Antipiréticos. Verificou-se que a maior parte dos alunos não ultrapassa os 4 dias de automedicação e revelam faze-lo com pouca frequência. De modo geral os alunos procuram o conhecimento das indicações do medicamento e obtêm conhecimento do mesmo através do Farmacêutico, Família e Médico. Os alunos que responderam que se automedicavam, consideram de um modo geral a automedicação uma prática insegura. Quando comparado os anos curriculares, constatou-se que mais de metade dos alunos do 3º ano consideram a automedicação uma prática segura, ao contrário dos do 1º ano curricular, em que cerca de 91% diz não reconhecer esta prática como segura.
The Research in Nursing plays a decisive role in the development and consolidation of new knowledge. As such, under the Degree in Nursing at the University Fernando Pessoa, it was proposed the realization of a project, making this part of the requirements for obtaining the degree. The subject of this work is entitled as "Self-medication in Students of the 1st and 3rd year of the University Fernando Pessoa Nursing Degree". The self-medication is a practice that is growing and being an activity that may involve health risks. Thus, this project tries to understand what drives the students of 1st and 3rd year of UFP Nursing Degree to practice self-medication, to practice safely, what medications they use, in what situations do, how often who self-medicate, have prior knowledge if seeking to know what the adverse effects and are considered a safe practice In this sense, it was defined starting point of this study: "Knowing that students of the 1st and 3rd year of the University Fernando Pessoa Nursing Degree make self-medication and under what conditions the practice?" The study is an applied descriptive exploratory study with a quantitative approach. The objectives of this study were generally know if students of the 1st and 3rd year of the University Fernando Pessoa Nursing Degree make self-medication, and meet some of the features of this self-medication. The sample consisted of 60 students from the 1st and 3rd year Bachelor of Nursing at the University Fernando Pessoa in Porto. With regard to the processing of data collected after the respective analysis carried out and discussion, it was found that most learners ingest medication without prescription, and the female gender on the 3rd year course those who practice the most. The main cause that leads students to self-medicate relates to the symptoms Pain, Cold / Flu, Fever, and Headache, regardless of gender or academic year. Medications that are most used for this are Analgesics, Anti-inflammatories, and antipyretics. Verification is that most students do not exceed four days of self-medication and reveal to do it infrequently. Generally, students seeking knowledge of product information and obtain knowledge of it through the Pharmaceutical, Family, and Medical. Students who said they self-medicated consider generally the self-medication an unsafe practice. Compared the academic years, it was found that more than half of the students of the 3rd year consider Self-medication a safe practice, unlike the 1st academic year, in which about 91% say they do not recognize this practice as safe.
