Abstract(s)
promovendo assim, funcionalidade e qualidade-de-vida. Objetivo: Este estudo analisa as
Introduction: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disease of unknown etiology in which demyelination of myelin sheaths of the central nervous system (CNS) occurs, that makes the individual's vital functions and functionality deficient, which may lead, among other things, to the occurrence of falls. Therefore, physiotherapy is essential for the treatment of patients with this pathology, since it decreases limitations and other fragilities, thus promoting functionality and quality-of-life. Objective: This study analyzes the different therapeutic approaches, so that we can understand the most effective treatment in reducing the risk of falls in MS patients. Methodology: A bibliographic search was performed using the search engines and databases Pubmed and PEDro, including randomized controlled trials conducted in humans, available for full consultation, in Portuguese or English. Results: Of the 290 articles found, 10 were included in this analysis, since they satisfied the total inclusion criteria. Conclusion: Through this literature review, we can conclude that there are several strategies that can be used to reduce the risk of falls in MS patients.
