Abstract(s)
Trata-se de um Glossário, isto é um dicionário especializado, no caso presente, sobre termos e
expressões de Estratigrafia Sequencial propriamente dita e termos associados o qual, pelo facto
de tentar ser exaustivo recebeu a designação tradicional de Thesaurus. Está organizado em
Francês.
O trabalho inicia-se com uma explicação sobre o conceito e a organização de um Thesaurus a
que se segue a apresentação alfabética dos termos e expressões com a respectiva definição
acompanhada de uma ilustração com amplos comentários explicativos. Em cada caso, para
além das remissões pertinentes, apresenta-se a equivalência do termo ou expressão em inglês.
O presente trabalho destina-se, essencialmente, ao ensino da Estratigrafia Sequêncial e suas
aplicações no âmbito do Doutoramento em Ciências da Terra, 3º ciclo de Bolonha, da
Universidade Fernando Pessoa.
O trabalho constitui, além disso, uma contribuição para facilitar no estudo e a interpretação das
matérias dos vários cursos publicados sobre a mesma temática no Repositório Institucional da Universidade Fernando Pessoa.
Num trabalho desta índole torna-se essencial ter em atenção que a versão agora publicada
corresponde a uma primeira tentativa de compilação que será permanentemente submetida a correcções e aperfeiçoamentos.
This publication corresponds to a detailed and extensive Glossary (currently entitled Thesaurus), i.e. a thematic dictionary of terms and expressions of Sequential Stratigraphy and related topics. The publication is organized in French. The work starts with an explanation of the concept of “Thesaurus” followed by the alphabetic presentation of terms with the respective definitions. When appropriate, the definitions include illustrations with complementary comments. Additionally, each term or expression presents the correspondence in English, anmd when applicable pertinent cross-references. The Thesaurus was organized in view of teaching of the Sequential Stratigraphy and related matters in the scope of the PhD Program in Earth Sciences of University Fernando Pessoa. Finally, it should be emphasized that such a publication will be permanently submitted to amendments and improvements.
