Abstract(s)
Objetivo: Esta revisão bibliográfica pretendeu determinar os efeitos do exercício físico em pacientes asmáticos e obesos. Metodologia: Foi realizada uma pesquisa na Pubmed, Web of Science e Physiotherapy Evidence Database (PEDro) entre outubro e dezembro 2020 para identificar estudos randomizados controlados (RCTs) que avaliassem os exercícios físicos entre grupo de intervenção (GI), grupo placebo (GP) e/ou grupo de controlo (GC). Parâmetros de controlo dos sintomas da asma, Índice de Massa Corporal (IMC) e função pulmonar foram avaliados. A qualidade metodológica foi avaliada com escala de PEDro. Resultados: Foram incluídos 4 artigos com um total de 412 participantes com score total de 7,25 pontos de acordo com a escala de PEDro. Dos estudos incluídos nesta revisão, cada um avaliou os efeitos de um programa de exercícios físicos em adultos, associado a um programa nutricional, tendo revelado uma melhoria no controle da asma de alguns indivíduos, bem como no IMC. A melhoria da função pulmonar é menos óbvia. Conclusões: Podemos concluir que o exercício físico associado a um programa de emagrecimento parece contribuir para os efeitos positivos no controle da asma.

Asthma symptom control parameters, Body Mass Index (BMI) and lung function were assessed. Methodological quality was assessed using the PEDro scale. Results: Four articles were included with a total of 412 participants with a total score of 7.25 points according to the PEDro scale. Of the studies included in this review, each assessed the effects of an exercise program in adults, associated with a nutritional program, having revealed an improvement in the control of asthma in some individuals, as well as in BMI. The improvement in lung function is less obvious. Conclusions: We can conclude that the physical exercise associated with a weight loss program seems to contribute to the positive effects in the control of asthma.
