Comparação da prevalência de lesão do ligamento cruzado anterior entre atletas masculinos e femininos

Abstract(s)
Objetivo: Rever e sumariar a literatura existente sobre lesão do ligamento cruzado anterior em atletas profissionais e/ou amadores, de forma a comparar prevalência desta mesma lesão entre géneros. Metodologia: A pesquisa ocorreu nas bases de dados Pubmed, Scopus e Web Of Science, com a adição do motor de busca Google Scholar, através da expressão de pesquisa “athlet* AND ("anterior cruciate ligament" OR ACL) AND (injury OR tear) AND (prevalence) “, com inclusão de estudos observacionais escritos na língua portuguesa, espanhola, inglesa e/ou francesa. Resultados: Através da expressão definida, a pesquisa apresentou um total de 1208 artigos dos quais 86 foram retirados por serem duplicados, 7 estudos foram integrados na revisão bibliográfica (2 apenas sobre sexo masculino, 2 sobre género feminino e 3 relativos ao dois géneros). Discussão: a revisão apresenta limitações na medida em que nem todos os estudos comparam o género feminino e masculino no mesmo artigo. O sexo feminino foi o que apresentou maior prevalência de lesão do ligamento cruzado anterior.
Objective: Review and summarize the existing literature on anterior cruciate ligament injuries in professional and/or amateur athletes, in order to compare the prevalence of this same injury between genders. Methodology: The research took place in the Pubmed, Scopus and Web of Science databases, with the addition of the Google Scholar search engine, using the search expression “athlet* AND ("anterior cruciate ligament" OR ACL) AND (injury OR tear ) AND (prevalence)”, with the inclusion of observational studies written in Portuguese, Spanish, English and/or French. Results: Using the defined expression, the search presented a total of 1208 articles of which 86 were removed due to being duplicates, 7 studies were integrated into the bibliographic review (2 only on males, 2 on females and 3 relating to both genders). Discussion: the review has limitations in that not all studies do not compare the female gender and the male gender in the same article. Females had the highest prevalence of anterior cruciate ligament injuries.
