Abstract(s)

O texto tangencia aspectos transversais da cultura baiana e procura revelar a guerra surda travada na panela da alegria, de uma Bahia que se converteu em clichê. Busca, ao mesmo tempo, compreender a impiedosa transformação de uma sociedade cujo comportamento está em sintonia com o resto do mundo. Religião, arte, lazer, turismo e economia globalizada enfrentam, na Bahia, observadas as especificidades locais, as mesmas vicissitudes encontradas num planeta marcado pelo fim de uma era. O texto aborda essa questão pensando, ainda, nas continentais distâncias físicas que caracterizam um país que contém, geograficamente, uma Europa dentro de si. The text goes off on a tangent, in transversals aspects of Bahia’s culture and delves into revealing a deaf war into a happy melting pot, of a Bahia which has converted into cliché. At the same time, it tries to comprehend the unforgiving transformation of a society which behaves in sync with the rest of the world. Religion, art, pleasure, tourism and globalized economy face, in Bahia, having the local specificities observed, the same vicissitudes found in a planet marked by the end of an era. The text brings up this issue, thinking , still, on the continental physical distances which characterize a country that contain, geographically, an Europe within itself.
