Abstract(s)
A prática cirúrgica de qualidade constitui um objetivo fundamental dos hospitais. Por
isso, é pertinente tentar compreender as condições estruturais e organizacionais para que
aquele objectivo seja mais facilmente atingido. O presente estudo exploratório procurou
conhecer as motivações que estão na base da escolha dos cirurgiões quanto ao local para
realizarem as suas cirurgias bem como as características dos cirurgiões relativamente às
variáveis idade, anos de experiência de trabalho e sexo. Foi administrado um inquérito
por questionário a uma amostra de conveniência constituída por 99 cirurgiões, 67,3 %
sexo masculino e 32,7 % do sexo feminino, com idades compreendidas entre os 37 e 66
(M= 23,65; DP=8,92) efetuando o tratamento de dados através do IBM® SPSS®
Statistics vs.24.0 através de testes não paramétricos. Os resultados alcançados
demonstram que no topo das motivações dos cirurgiões situa-se a importância atribuída
de 77,8 % aos recursos humanos e equipamentos disponíveis e no outro extremo surge 3
% visita online às instalações. Perante estes resultados, o presente estudo abre pistas
importantes para o desenvolvimento de abordagens mais aprofundadas e comparativas
necessárias para um melhor conhecimento da realidade em análise.

The present exploratory study aims to a knowledge the motivations that determine surgeons' choice related to the place to perform their surgeries. A questionnaire was administered to a convenience sample of 99 surgeons, 67.3 % male and 32.7 % female, aged 37-66 (M = 23.65, SD = 8, 92) by processing data using IBM® SPSS® Statistics vs.24.0 through non-parametric tests. The results show that at the top of the motivations of surgeons is the attributed importance of 77.8% to human resources and equipment available and at the other extreme 3% visit online to the facilities. Given these results, the present study opens important clues for the development of more in-depth and comparative approaches necessary for a better understanding of the reality under analysis.
