| dc.description.abstract | Este trabalho teve como proposta verificar por meio da revisão da literatura, a possível relação entre a fisiopatologia das maloclusões e as alterações na postura corporal, e suas possíveis conseqüências. Este estudo visou destacar a importância do diagnóstico e terapêutica integradas, a proporcionar uma nova visão clínica para a fisioterapia, ortopedia. Constatou-se a existência de um íntimo relacionamento entre a oclusão dentária e a postura corporal; ou seja, a oclusão integra o todo portanto, tem influência e influencia diretamente os distúrbios que ocorrem em outras áreas do corpo humano, a estabelecer um novo paradigma para os tratamentos da maloclusão dentária. Os autores indicaram ainda que a idéia individualizada da Medicina Dentária deveria ser abandonada para dar lugar a idéia de conjunto, a quebrar preconceitos e a buscar a interdisciplinaridade entre as várias áreas da Medicina Dentária, Medicina, Fisioterapia, terapia da fala, contribuindo para uma melhor qualidade de vida dos indivíduos. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study was to verify the relationship between the pathophysiology of malocclusion and changes in body posture, along with any possible consequences. This was done through a literature review. The study also aimed to highlight the importance of integrated diagnosis and treatment, providing a new clinical perspective for orthopedics and physical therapy. The review of literature verified the existence of an identifiable relationship between dental occlusion and body posture; the occlusion has direct influence on disorders that occur in other areas of the human body. This establishes a new paradigm to dental malocclusion treatments. The authors suggest dentistry not be an isolated approach to malocclusion, but instead be part of an interdisciplinary team involving medicine, speech therapy, physical therapy, etc… in order to better address the patient as a whole. | pt_PT |
