dc.description.abstractO tema do presente Projeto de Graduação aborda o impacto da Inteligência Artificial (IA) na Logística. Pretendeu-se avaliar o atual impacto da IA no ramo da Logística, indicar as vantagens e desvantagens da sua aplicação, e descrever casos reais de implementação bem-sucedido. Para tal, recorreu-se a uma revisão da literatura existente sobre o tema, selecionando-se artigos que tenham incidido sobre o tema definido. Perceciona-se que a IA está presente no processo Logístico, impactando este setor de forma significativa. Identificam-se várias vantagens no seu uso, como por exemplo, previsão da procura de uma forma mais precisa, melhor gestão de inventário ou planeamento de rotas nos transportes que permitem reduções de custos e otimização de tempos de entrega. Contudo, são também identificadas desvantagens no seu uso, destacando-se evidentemente a substituição do Homem pelas máquinas em algumas tarefas. Questões éticas, privacidade e manuseamento de dados são outras das questões que se levantam. Identificam-se, com a Amazon em lugar de destaque, empresas que retiram grandes benefícios com a inclusão da IA no seu processo Logístico.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThe topic of this Graduation Project addresses the impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Logistics. The aim was to evaluate the current impact of AI in the field of Logistics, to highlight the advantages and disadvantages of its application, and to describe real cases of successful implementation. To achieve this, a review of the existing literature on the subject was conducted, selecting articles that focused on the defined topic. It is perceived that AI is present in the logistics process, significantly impacting this sector. Several advantages of its use are identified, such as more accurate demand forecasting, better inventory management, and route planning in transportation, which enable cost reductions and optimization of delivery times. However, disadvantages are also identified, notably the replacement of humans by machines in certain tasks. Ethical issues, privacy, and data handling are other concerns that arise. Companies that gain significant benefits from the inclusion of AI in their logistics processes are identified, with Amazon being a prominent example.pt_PT
