Os veterinários cada vez mais recorrem a fisioterapia para tratar dos cães, tendo o fisioterapeuta um papel muito importante na avaliação das patologias e depois aplicar os diferentes e diversos métodos fisioterapêuticos para cada caso. O artigo de revisão bibliográfico apresentado em seguida pretende demonstrar as várias técnicas fisioterapêuticas que se podem aplicar nos cães, e demonstrar em algumas patologias a sua aplicação. Foram analisados 30 artigos bibliográficos, entre os meses de Outubro e Dezembro de 2014. Foi dada prioridade a artigos referentes as técnicas de fisioterapia utilizadas nos cães e também as patologias. O exame clinico que o fisioterapeuta deve realizar onde vai englobar a anamnese, a avaliação da dor e o protocolo. As várias técnicas fisioterapêuticas que podem ser utilizadas nos animais, embora com alterações de alguns parâmetros, adaptadas as diferenças anatómicas e fisiológicas das várias espécies e as patologias mais frequentes que se podem encontrar nos cães. A reabilitação e fisioterapia ajudam os animais a recuperar mais rápido.

They analyzed 30 bibliographic items, between October and December 2014. Priority was given to articles concerning the physical therapy techniques used in dogs and also pathologies. The clinical examination that the therapist should conduct will include anamnesis, pain assessment and the protocol. The various physical therapy techniques that can be used in animals, although with some parameters change, adapted to the anatomical and physiological differences of various kinds and the most frequent pathologies that can be found in dogs. Rehabilitation and physiotherapy help animals recover quickly.
