La representación de la crisis en la familia y en la pareja se examina a través de cuatro
películas chilenas de los años 90s. Sin pretender que el cine “refleje” la realidad social, al
menos algunos de sus signos perturbadores aparecen inequívocamente en el “imaginario
social”. La figura autoritaria del padre y su gravitación fatal sobre los hijos; la ruptura de
la pareja como consecuencia de la “incomunicación”; la elección del silencio en el habla como rebeldía o involución, son algunos de los tópicos examinados aquí. The representation of the crisis of the family and the couple is examined through four
Chilean films from the 90s. Without assuming that cinema “reflects” social reality, some
of its disturbing signs unequivocally appear in the “social imaginary.” The figure of the
authoritarian father and its fatal influence overs his children; the break of the couple as
a consequence of “in communication;” the choice of silence as rebellion or involution are some of the topics examined here.
