Objective: To compare the current models used in the pre-clinical training of Endodontics regarding their physical characteristics that influence the perception and performance of the students. Methodology: A bibliographic search was carried out until March 2022 in the electronic databases of Pubmed, Google academic and B-on, and 25 of the articles found were selected, according to the defined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Development: The teaching and pre-clinical training in the field of dental medicine has always been essential for the training of students. Training on the most reliable and easily accessible models can become a challenge to have the best possible learning and subsequent quality clinical practice. Conclusion: Pre-clinical training in endodontics is essential for students as it allows them to gain confidence in the future treatment performed on patients. For this training, natural or artificial teeth can be used. Among the available artificial models, the choice must be made carefully, taking into account the characteristics of each model.
