Uma boca saudável é importante, tanto a nível de saúde como a nível social, manter os dentes em boca é um dos objetivos da medicina dentária. O objetivo deste trabalho é comparar a endodontia e implantologia como soluções para o problema; tratar os dentes naturais até a exaustão ou optar pela sua substituição. A literatura consultada peca por usar critérios de sobrevivência distintos para os dois métodos, no entanto parece concordar que um dente endodociado tem uma longevidade superior a um implante.
A healthy mouth is important, both at health and social levels, keeping teeth in the mouth is one of the goals of dental medicine. The objective of this paper is to compare endodontics and implantology as solutions to the problem; treat natural teeth until exhaustion or choose to replace it. The literature fails by using distinct survival criteria for both methods, however it seems to agree that an endodotiated tooth has a longevity greater than an implant.
