Abstract(s)
The school constitutes a privileged means to prevent development problems due to the importance it has in the process of socializing children and young people. As such, in order to understand what educational practices best fit the problems currently experienced, it is necessary to systematically evaluate the school. For this to be possible, an exploratory study was carried out using the questionnaire survey method, with a sample of 52 participants, being these educational agents, aged between 40 and 64 years (mean age 52.62). The interviewees revealed a reasonable perception regarding both the physical space and the functioning of the school. Despite this, the participants described the involvement of parents as being weak. The educational agents also identified the existence of several behavioural problems of the students as well as an escalation of the same in the last five years. As such, participants identified the need to create a team of professionals from different areas capable of identifying and intervening in the various risk factors and in the multiple problems encountered in schools. Thus, it is possible to deduce that it is necessary to create action plans that take into account the different needs that each school has, in order to improve the school functioning and, consequently, the school results of its students.
