O impacto da surdez nas famílias: envolvimento parental

| dc.description.abstract | A interação e o envolvimento entre os seres humanos são elementos-chave no desenvolvimento pois deles advém a aprendizagem, o conhecimento, a formação do seu caráter, e crucialmente, a relação com os outros. Assim, neste estudo abordar-se-á a Surdez e as suas implicações na Família, onde a comunicação e o envolvimento parental encontram um obstáculo desafiador, dependente de vários fatores e recursos, que poderão refletir-se no desenvolvimento da criança e na qualidade de vida da família. Para abordar esta questão, analisou-se inicialmente a condição da Surdez, tendo em conta as várias tipologias familiares: pais ouvintes/filhos surdos, pais surdos/filhos surdos, pais surdos/filhos ouvintes bem como famílias em que um dos progenitores é surdo e o outro ouvinte, com filhos ouvintes e/ou filhos surdos. Este trabalho tem o intuito de melhor compreender o impacto desta realidade na família, compreender as necessidades e dificuldades associadas e clarificar a necessidade de um plano de Intervenção Precoce que possa promover e beneficiar o envolvimento parental, crucial nos primeiros anos de vida da criança. No sentido de encontrar respostas para os problemas recorrentes nestas famílias, foi feita uma revisão da literatura, e foram formalizadas perguntas e hipóteses de investigação que foram sustentadas tanto quanto possível de forma teórica. Neste âmbito, foi elaborado um questionário com o intuito de evidenciar que fatores mais influenciam a relação entre pais e filhos, o desenvolvimento, sociabilidade e aprendizagem da criança, e eventuais terapias que sejam necessárias para além da aprendizagem da LGP. E quais destes, ou combinações destes, podem ser necessários para beneficiar e promover o envolvimento parental e consequentemente, dar uma maior qualidade de vida à criança e família. Por fim, defende-se que, de acordo com as características e necessidades de cada tipologia familiar, possa ser uma mais-valia a aplicação de um plano de intervenção precoce específico, promovendo adequadamente a informação e estratégias em cada caso, visando a valorização do envolvimento parental. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The interaction and involvement between human beings are key elements in development because it comes from learning, knowledge, the formation of their character, and crucially, the relationship with others. Thus, this study will address Deafness and its implications on the Family, where communication and parental involvement face a challenging obstacle, dependent on various factors and resources, which may be reflected in the child's development and quality of family life. To address this issue, the condition of deafness was initially analyzed, taking into account the various family typologies: deaf parents / deaf children, deaf parents / deaf children, deaf parents / hearing children as well as families, in which one of the parents is deaf and the other, a listener, with hearing children and / or deaf children. This paper aims to better understand the impact of this reality on the family, understand the needs and associated difficulties and clarify the need for an Early Intervention plan that can promote and benefit parental involvement, crucial in the early years of the child's life. In order to find answers to the recurrent problems in these families, a literature review was made, and research questions and hypotheses were formalized and were theoretically supported as much as possible. In this context, a questionnaire was designed to show which factors most influence the relationship between parents and children, the development, sociability and learning of the child, and any therapies that are necessary beyond the learning of LGP. And which of these, or combinations of these, may be needed to benefit and promote parental involvement and thereby give the child and family a higher quality of life. Finally, we believe according to the characteristics and needs of each family typology, it may be an added value to apply a specific early intervention plan, properly promoting the information and strategies in each case, aiming at enhancing parental involvement. | pt_PT |
