Abstract(s)
Objetivo: Estudar o efeito do programa “Fifa 11+ for kids” na força do quadricípite e no salto vertical. Metodologia: foi realizado um estudo experimental, não randomizado, e controlado, com 67 jovens atletas masculinos, distribuídos por dois grupos: grupo de controlo (não realizou programa) e grupo experimental (realizou programa “Fifa 11+ for kids” durante 8 semanas). Realizou-se uma avaliação da força do quadricípite e do salto vertical antes e depois do programa. Resultados: Encontraram-se diferenças significativas no “Peak torque” de ambos os grupos. Apenas no grupo experimental se verificou diferenças significativas na altura do salto. Conclusão: Podemos concluir que a aplicação do programa “Fifa 11+ kids” não se traduziu num aumento do “Peak torque”. Relativamente ao “Time to peak torque” e altura de salto o programa parece ter tido efeitos positivos, no entanto a ausências de diferencias significativas nas variações das variáveis entres os grupos sugere cautela na interpretação dos resultados obtidos.

Quadriceps strength and vertical jump were assessed before and after the program. Results: Significant differences were found in the "Peak torque" of both groups. Only in the experimental group were there significant differences in jump height. Conclusion: We can conclude that the application of the "Fifa 11+ kids" program did not result in an increase in "Peak torque". With regard to "Time to peak torque" and jump height, the program seems to have had positive effects, but the lack of significant differences in the variations of the variables between the groups suggests caution in interpreting the results obtained.
