Abstract(s)
Objective: To verify the effectiveness of different interventions of Physiotherapy in children with Down syndrome. Methods: Research was performed in the database PEDro, Pubmed and B-on, to check for randomized controlled trials that addressed the different physiotherapy interventions in children with Down syndrome. Results: This review included 10 studies, all randomized controlled trials, which present a methodological quality of 4,5 in the PEDro scale. Of the 10 studies, 6 of them approach the importance of an individual treadmill training protocol of higher intensity (HI) early in the march. The other studies address the importance of other interventions in children with Down syndrome such as therapeutic massage, strength and balance training, and training of sensorimotor functions through virtual reality of the Wii games and other interventions. Conclusion: It is concluded through this systematic review that different approaches of Physiotherapy are effective in children with Down syndrome.
