| dc.description.abstract | Durante as últimas décadas, a previsibilidade dos procedimentos cirúrgicos aumentou significativamente com a introdução de novas técnicas, possibilitando a recuperação de dentes que estavam condenados. Quando a abordagem não-cirúrgica não é previsível ou é contra-indicada, a terapia Endodôntica cirúrgica é necessária para salvar o dente. Este procedimento consiste na exposição da área envolvida, ressecção radicular, preparação de uma retro-cavidade e inserção de um material retro-obturador. Refinamentos nas técnicas e a pesquisa por novos materiais e equipamentos têm acompanhado este desenvolvimento da cirurgia. A introdução do microscópio operatório e do ultra-som levou a cirurgia Endodôntica a um outro nível de sofisticação: a abordagem micro-cirúrgica. Numerosos materiais têm sido sugeridos para a retro-obturação, porém recentemente, o agregado trióxido mineral (MTA), surge como o material retro-obturador de escolha. During the last decades, the frequency of the surgical procedures increased significantly with the introduction of new techniques, making possible the recovery of teeth that were condemned. When the no-surgical approach is not previsible or it is contraindicated, the surgical endodontic therapy is necessary to save the tooth. This procedure consists of the exhibition of the involved area, root resection, root-end preparation and insert of a retro-filling material. Refinements in the techniques and the research for new materiais and equipments have been accompanying this development of the surgery. The introduction of the operative microscope and of the ultrasom it took the endodontic surgery at another sophistication levei: the micro-surgical approach. Numerous materiais have been suggested for the retro-filling, however recently, the mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), it appears as lhe material choice. | por |
