Abstract(s)
Fernando Pessoa.
The world’s population is getting older. Nowadays, demographic data suggest that candidates for dental implant therapy are increasingly older people. It’s necessary to observe the geriatric patient holistically, taking into account the inherent complexity of the anatomical limitations, the advancement of the age, the systemic pathologies, and the panoply of drugs that it consumes. This systematic review intend to explore the thematic of rehabilitation with dental implants in the geriatric patient, analyzing the most common diseases of this population, with a view to the study of the feasibility of rehabilitation with dental implants. For this work, the bibliographic research was carried out in the PubMed electronic database, being restricted to the Portuguese, English and Spanish languages, as well as to the subject related to dental implants and still in the library and repository of Fernando Pessoa University.
