Abstract(s)
This study’s aim was to determine the nutritional status of distance skating athletes such as attitudes and food intake of athletes with anthropometric profile. We evaluated 50 female figure skating athletes with averages between 8 and 18 years. The exercices were collected with sociodemographic data, and were evaluated at the level of their body routine, by two methods: anthropometry (tricipital fold, bicipital fold, subscapular fold and suprailiac fold) and electrical bioimpedance. They also completed a food diary for 3 consecutive days. EAT-26 was also applied and an adiposity fold index was created to summarize as peripheral folds. With this work, it was possible to verify that the average for the athelete’s pratices was 4 times per week, and younger women (8-10 hrs) got more hours per week than older women (13.0 hrs / week vs 11 , 5 h / week). Regarding the eating attitudes (test, it was observed that participants aged 8-10 years tend to have more concerning eating attitudes According to the growth curves for the body mass index, all classes are classified as normoponderal (50th and 85th percentiles), with the largest and most recent percentages being higher than the older ones (60 vs 50) respectively. In the 8-10 year-old eating attitudes test, there might be more worrying eating behaviors (average = 72.4 vs. 71.8 points), but the difference is not significative (p = 0.481).
