Saúde sexual e reprodutiva: conhecimentos e comportamentos de estudantes do 8.º ano ao 12.º ano do norte de Portugal

| dc.description.abstract | O presente estudo empírico-teórico, pretende quantificar os conhecimentos dos adolescentes escolarizados sobre a saúde sexual e reprodutiva de adolescentes portugueses a frequentar o 8.º ao 12.º ano de escolaridade, com uma amostra de 359 adolescentes (59% do sexo feminino), com idades dos 13 aos 22 anos, a idade média de15,7 anos, residentes no norte de Portugal (68% urbanos; 32% rurais). Utilizou-se a 2.ª edição do “Quebrese – Questionário Breve Sobre Sexualidade II” de Sampaio e Silva (2009), da Universidade Fernando Pessoa. Na área dos conhecimentos, o instrumento inclui 2 sub-escalas (conhecimentos sobre Infecções Sexualmente Transmissiveis, IST‟s e Métodos Contraceptivos, MC‟s). Neste estudo, o Quebrese II revela qualidades psicométricas melhoradas sobre a primeira edição (alfa de Cronbach de 0,72 para IST‟s e 0,84 para MC‟s). As variáveis individuais incluem: género, idade, zona de residência e ano de escolaridade; as variáveis familiares incluem: tamanho da família, nível sócio-económico, prática religiosa, prática de solidariedade, fonte informação familiar sobre o preservativo, fonte informação familiar sobre IST, fonte informação familiar sobre consulta de planeamento familiar. Do total inquiridos, 33% são sexualmente activos, com idade média de iniciação sexual aos 14,8 nos rapazes, 15,3 nas raparigas. Os adolescentes que apresentam melhores conhecimentos provêm de famílias pequenas, com pouca prática religiosa e solidária, e identificam a mãe como principal fonte de informação sobre sexualidade. Os rapazes tendem a iniciar a sua vida sexual mais cedo e tem maior número de parceiros sexuais. As raparigas apresentam maiores conhecimentos sexuais de IST‟s e MC‟s. São as raparigas mais velhas (com mais de 17 anos) as mais informadas sobre ambos os conhecimentos. The present empirical-theoretical study, aims to quantify the knowledge of the adolescents educated on sexual and reproductive health of Portuguese adolescents attending from the 8TH to the 12TH school year, with a sample of 359 adolescents (59% female), with ages ranging from 13 to 22 years old, the average age of 15,7 years old, resident in the north of Portugal (68% urban, 32% rural). We used the 2ND edition of "Quebrese – Brief Questionnaire On Sexuality II" from Sampaio and Silva (2009), from the Fernando Pessoa University. In the area of knowledge, the instrument includes 2 sub-scales (knowledge about Sexually Transmitted Infections, STI's and Contraceptive Methods, CM's). In this study, the Quebrese II reveals psychometric qualities improved on the first edition (Cronbach's alpha of 0.72 for STI's and 0.84 for CM's). The individual variables include: gender, age, area of residence and school year; the family variables include: family size, socio-economic level, religious practice, practice of solidarity, source information family on the condom, source information family on STI, source information family on consultation in family planning. Of the total of the adolescents surveyed, 33% are sexually active, with an average age of sexual initiation at 14.8 for boys and 15.3 for girls. The adolescents who show the best knowledge come from small families, with little religious practice and solidarity, and identify the mother as the main source of information about sexuality. The boys tend to begin their sexual life sooner and have a greater number of sexual partners. Girls have a greater knowledge of sexual STI's and CM's. Are the older girls (with more than 17 years old) the more informed about both knowledge. | por |
