Utilização de scanner intra oral para confeção de prótese parcial removível: revisão narrativa

| dc.description.abstract | A prótese parcial removível é uma das reabilitações orais mais versáteis. O seu processo de confeção laboratorial já está adaptado ao digital, porém o processo clínico com o uso de scanner intra oral (IOS) ainda é pouco difundido. O objetivo dessa revisão narrativa é verificar na literatura as indicações, vantagens, desvantagens e limitações do uso do IOS para confeção de próteses parciais removíveis esqueléticas. Após pesquisa nas bases de dados PubMed, foram selecionados 37 artigos para realizar esta revisão. Foram avaliadas informações sobre a acurácia da digitalização intra oral de arcada total, a digitalização de tecidos moles, a transferência da oclusão com scanner intra oral e a adaptação de infraestrutura. O artigo conclui que a literatura apresenta a possibilidade de realizar todos os tipos de tratamento de prótese parcial removível com o uso de IOS e outras ferramentas digitais, porém, ainda é maior evidência em casos de extremo livre e em reabilitações com áreas edêntulas extensas. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The removable partial denture is one of the most versatile oral rehabilitations. Its laboratory fabrication process has already been adapted to digital methods, but the clinical process using intraoral scanners is still not widely disseminated. The objective of this narrative review is to examine the literature regarding the indications, advantages, disadvantages, and limitations of using IOS for the fabrication of removable partial dentures with a skeletal framework. After searching the PubMed database, 37 articles were selected to compose this review. Information regarding the accuracy of intraoral scanning for full arch, soft tissue scanning, transfer of occlusion using intraoral scanners, and infrastructure adaptation was evaluated. The article concludes that the literature demonstrates the possibility of performing all types of removable partial denture treatments using IOS and other digital tools. However, further evidence is still needed, especially in cases of free-end situations and rehabilitations involving large areas of missing teeth. | pt_PT |
