As substâncias químicas nos campeonatos distritais de futebol da Associação de Futebol de Viana do Castelo: conhecimento dos jogadores

Abstract(s)
A realização deste estudo procurou conhecer o grau de conhecimento que os jogadores séniores e júniores inscritos na Associação de Futebol de Viana do Castelo detêm em relação ao uso de substâncias químicas no futebol. Deste modo, pretende-se conhecer o grau conhecimento dos atletas relativamente aos seguintes aspectos: os malefícios provocados pelo uso de substâncias químicas; as substâncias mais usadas durante a competição; as motivações que levam ao uso deste tipo de substâncias; a responsabilidade sobre o uso deste tipo de substâncias.
Tendo em conta as características do nosso estudo optou-se por uma metodologia de administração directa de natureza descritiva. A amostra foi constituída por 124 jogadores inscritos na AFVC, na época de 2006/2007, pertencentes aos escalões júnior e sénior, a mostra foi seleccionada através de um processo aleatório sistemático. O método de recolha de dados utilizado foi um questionário, que após a utilização da análise estatística, permitiu avaliar os conhecimentos que os jogadores detinham sobre o uso de substâncias químicas nos campeonatos distritais de futebol de da AFVC.
Após análise dos dados verificou-se que os jogadores na sua opinião referiram que a substância mais utilizada durante o período de competição foi os estimulantes. Perante os malefícios provocados pelas diferentes substâncias consideradas ilegais no período de competição os mesmos jogadores consideraram que o principal malefício provocado pelo uso de estimulantes, de canabinóides, de narcóticos analgésicos, esteróides anabolizantes, de hormonas peptídicas e de inibidores se situa a nível cardíaco, os jogadores consideraram apenas que o uso de diuréticos não apresenta como principal malefício o situado a nível cardíaco, sendo que para esta substância, os mesmos, consideraram que o principal malefício se situava no aparelho renal. Os inquiridos conferiram responsabilidades sobre o uso de substâncias químicas não só aos jogadores mas também a alguns dos elementos que constituem a equipa técnica.
This study tried to find out the degree of knowledge that senior and junior players enrolled in the Football Association of Viana do Castelo had relating to the use of chemical substances the football. This way, it is intended to know athlete’s knowledge concerning the following aspects: the damage caused by the use of chemical substances during a competition; the most used substances during a competition; the motivations that lead to the use of this kind of substances and; the responsibility on the use of this type of substances. Taking the characteristics of our study into account, it was opted for a methodology of direct administration of descriptive nature. The sample was made by 124 players enrolled in the AFVC, in the 2006/2007 season and they belong to the junior and senior levels. They were selected through a systematic random process. The method of data collection used was a questionnaire which, after the use of statistical analysis, allowed evaluating the knowledge that the players had on the use of chemical substances in the football district championships of the AFVC. After analyzing the data it was found that the players in their opinions refer that most used substances during the competition were the stimulants. Give the harm caused by the different substances deemed illegal during the period of competition, the same players considered that the main damage caused by the use of stimulants, canabinoides, narcotic analgesics, anabolic steroids, peptide hormones and inhibitors lies at cardiac level. Players just considered that the use of diuretics do not show as a main damage the one laid at heart level, and for this substance the same players considered that the main harm laid in the renal system. The inquired players conferred responsibilities on the use of chemicals not only to players but also to some elements that form the team staff.
