Uma prótese imediata tem como finalidade reabilitar e devolver a função ao Sistema
Estomatognático, conferindo um certo grau de estética ao paciente durante o processo de
cicatrização do processo alveolar, após a realização de exodontias múltiplas.
Entende-se alveoloplastia como um procedimento cirúrgico que possibilita a correção
plástica do processo alveolar com o objetivo de uniformizar o tecido ósseo remanescente,
permitindo uma melhor adaptação da prótese a ser colocada imediatamente após as
extrações. A técnica utilizada é simples e rápida, mas exige conhecimento aprofundado
em cirurgia e em prótese.
Este trabalho visa realizar uma revisão da literatura relativa à confeção de uma prótese
total imediata nos casos com indicação para extrações múltiplas, utilizando a técnica
cirúrgica da alveoloplastia de forma a obter uma melhor adaptação da prótese. Para isso
foi elaborada uma pesquisa bibliográfica na PubMed/Medline, BIREME, BBO, LILACS
e B-On e na biblioteca da Universidade Fernando Pessoa.
An immediate prosthesis aims to rehabilitate and restore the function to the Stomatognathic System, granting some aesthetics to the patient during the cicatrization of the alveolar process, after performing multiple extractions. Alveoloplasty is understood as a surgical procedure that allows the plastic correction of the alveolar process in the attempt of uniformizing the remaining bone tissue, allowing a better adaptation of the prosthesis to be placed immediately after the extractions. The technique used is simple and fast, but requires deep knowledge in surgery and prosthesis. This work aims to review the literature on the manufacture of an immediate total prosthesis in cases with indication for multiple extractions, using the surgical technique of alveoloplasty to obtain a better adaptation of the prosthesis. For this, a bibliographic research was performed on PubMed/Medline, BIREME, BBO, LILACS and B-On and in the library of the Fernando Pessoa University.
