Este trabalho de investigação foi realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ação
Humanitária, Cooperação e Desenvolvimento da UFP. Analisando as atividades de
ajuda e o voluntariado nos dias de hoje constata-se que a formação (que fornece
competências humanas, técnicas e operacionais) constitui um vetor essencial para a
aquisição de comportamentos que permitam exercer ação humanitária de uma forma
profissional e eficaz. Pretendeu-se analisar em que medida os formandos dos cursos
presenciais da Pista Mágica – Escola de Voluntariado, realizados entre 2008 e 2012,
aplicaram os conhecimentos adquiridos e qual a sua contribuição ao nível individual,
profissional e das atividades de ajuda nas organizações onde estão ou estavam inseridos.
Trata-se de um estudo de caso de uma ONGD recente e inovadora. A metodologia
utilizada foi essencialmente quantitativa, através da aplicação de inquéritos por
questionário. Os resultados demonstram que as formações ministradas foram
percecionadas como tendo maior impacte ao nível individual, seguindo-se o das
atividades de ajuda e por último o profissional. Ao nível das atividades de ajuda, a
aplicação dos conhecimentos adquiridos foi responsável pela criação de 85 novos
projetos, o envolvimento de 1.074 novos voluntários e o apoio a mais 2.522
beneficiários.
This research was performed under the UFP Master of Humanitarian Action, Cooperation and Development. Analysing aid activities and volunteering these days we found that the training (that provides human, technical and operational skills) is an essential vector for the acquisition of behaviours that allow carry humanitarian action in a professional and effective way. The purpose was to examine the extent to which the participants of classroom courses of Magic Track – Volunteering School (Pista Mágica – Escola de Voluntariado), conducted between 2008 and 2012, applied the knowledge gained and what is its contribution to the following levels: individual, socioprofessional and aid activities at the organizations where they belong or belonged. It is a case study of a recent and innovative Portuguese NGO. The methodology applied was mainly quantitative through the application of questionnaire surveys. The results show that the training provided was perceived as having greater impact at the individual level, followed by aid activities and ultimately professional sphere. In terms of the aid activities, the knowledge acquired was responsible for the creation of 85 new projects, the involvement of 1.074 new volunteers and the support of more 2.522 beneficiaries.
