Abstract(s)
The present study has as main objective to analyze the impact of intrafamily violence on the child, according to the perspective of the monitoring professionals, who integrate childcare institutions. The family presents itself as a place of protection and affection, but it is in this family environment that sometimes the child suffers direct and / or indirect violence. Violence impacts the child's life and can cause physical, psychological and social damage. The research was qualitative, with data collection carried out through semi-structured interviews and data analysis based on content analysis, with ten participants, five psychologists and five social workers in five host institutions. Most of the interviewed participants were female and aged between 20 and 60 years old. This research made it possible to compare the perceptions of professionals monitoring children. It was found that the participants perceive that the greatest impact of violence suffered by the child is the delay in language, cognitive and motor development, as well as the reproduction of violence with perpetration. Professionals identified aggressiveness as the behavior that most often appears in children who are victims of violence; and the emotional consequences identified were anxiety, fear, and low self-esteem. Problems such as enuresis (nocturnal and daytime) and encopresis were also recognized by professionals in some victims of violence. The present study thus reveals the need to intensify prevention and design in strengthening public policies with families to reduce violence in the domestic environment, as well as the continued training of professionals for better intervention in the search for strategies to work at the institutional level on the issue of violence, minimizing the impact on the child's life and thus providing differentiated and specialized work with support for families and children, promoting the strengthening of bonds, so that they have the right to family and community coexistence with the prevention of future aggressions.
