Abstract(s)
Objective: to determine the effects of taping on chronic ankle instability, comparing the various types of tape with the techniques applied. Methodology: the search was conducted in he databases PEDro, Pubmed, Science Direct and EBSCO; and included articles published in English and Portuguese, between 2000 and 2015. Results: although there is no consensus of the various studies, positive results were obtained in the increase of the motor speed conduction of the soleus muscle, improving the perception of stability, trust and safety, changes in the sagittal plane of ankle and muscle activity of the leg, when applied Leukotape with fibular reposition. Conclusion: taping had beneficial effects in some deficits in this type of instability and when complemented with physical therapy, can help in the treatment of this pathology.
