Abstract(s)
O presente projeto de dissertação de mestrado tem como principal objeto de estudo a cobertura jornalística regional no distrito do Porto, localizado na região norte de Portugal. Ao ter como foco um género jornalístico específico, para além do trabalho de contextualização histórica e temática, desenvolvemos um trabalho exploratório visando a familiaridade com o tema pesquisado, tanto mais que se trata de um assunto não muito estudado. De igual modo, foi usado o método descritivo ao caraterizar demograficamente a população do distrito do Porto. O nosso trabalho tem também uma incidência empírica, através da aplicação de um questionário de respostas fechadas e abertas, visando proceder a uma análise do impacto da cobertura do Jornalismo Regional do Distrito do Porto. Em primeiro lugar efetuámos uma contextualização histórica do surgimento do jornalismo regional e local em Portugal, bem como os seus géneros jornalísticos e a profissionalização do setor. De seguida, procedemos à contextualização demográfica e social da população do distrito do Porto. Procedemos ao levantamento dos jornais existentes neste distrito e analisamos as caraterísticas formais e substantivas realçando as regularidades e as diferenças. até verificar que jornais existem neste distrito. Por fim, foram analisados os resultados do questionário de forma a perceber qual o impacto da cobertura jornalística no distrito do Porto.
The present Master's dissertation project has as its main object of study the regional journalistic coverage in the District of Porto, located in the northern region of Portugal. By focusing on a specific journalistic genre, besides the historical and thematic contextualization, we developed an exploratory work aiming at familiarity with the researched theme, especially considering that it is a subject that has not been widely studied. Likewise, the descriptive method was used to demographically characterise the population of the district of Oporto. Our work also has an empirical incidence, through the application of a questionnaire with closed and open answers, aiming at analysing the impact of the coverage of Regional Journalism in the Oporto district. First of all, we made a historical contextualization of the emergence of regional and local journalism in Portugal, as well as its journalistic genres and the professionalization of the sector. Then, we proceeded to the demographic and social contextualization of the Porto district population. We proceeded to the survey of the existing newspapers in this district and analyzed the formal and substantive characteristics highlighting the regularities and differences. until verifying which newspapers exist in this district. Finally, the results of the questionnaire were analyzed in order to understand the impact of the journalistic coverage in Oporto district.
