As novas tecnologias ganham cada vez mais espaço e importância no nosso mundo atual. Se até então tudo mudou, porque não mudar o elemento fundamental da sala de aula?
A constatação de elevados índices de insucesso nas várias disciplinas é uma realidade e, como professores é nossa convicção que o aparecimento de novas tecnologias poderá contribuir para a criação de “novos ambientes” de trabalho que promovam a motivação e o sucesso na aprendizagem.
Procurando diminuir a distância entre educação, tecnologia e linguagem interativa surgem os mais variados recursos como o computador, a Internet e o Quadro Interativo que, podem proporcionar ao professor e ao aluno, neste ambiente tecnológico, novas e diversificadas metodologias de aprendizagem.
Pretende-se, com este estudo, compreender a motivação dos alunos aquando da utilização das TIC em sala de aula e alcançar um melhor conhecimento do processo de ensino aprendizagem, no que se refere à utilização das TIC, do seu potencial papel motivador na aprendizagem em geral, ou seja, o estudo tem como objetivo saber se a utilização das TIC em sala de aula contribui para melhorar significativamente os índices de motivação, de concentração, de empenho e se é facilitador na aquisição de novos conhecimentos e competências nos alunos, assim como uma influência positiva no relacionamento entre aluno e professor.
A investigação está organizada em duas partes, uma primeira, que faz um enquadramento teórico resultante da revisão bibliográfica e uma segunda que corresponde ao estudo empírico.
O estudo empírico é resultado de uma investigação aplicada aos alunos do 8º e 9º ano da Escola Secundaria de Viriato - Viseu e pretende-se, com os resultados e conclusões apresentados, promover nos professores a consciência da sua prática pedagógica, concluir se os alunos têm papel ativo e motivador na construção das aprendizagens aquando da utilização das TIC em sala de aula.

The awaress of high failure rates in the various subjets is a reality and as teachers we believe that the emergence of new technologies can contribute to the creation of "new" work environments that promote work motivation and learning success. Building a bridge between education, technology and interactive language appears the most varied resources such as the computer, internet and interactive whiteboard appear that can provide the teacher and the student in this technological environment, new and diverse learning methodologies. It is intended, with this study, to understand the motivation of students in their use of ICT in the classroom and achieve a better understanding of the teaching-learning process, regarding the use of ICT of , its potential role in motivating general learning, ie, the study aims to whether the use of ict in the classroom helps to significantly improve levels of motivation, concentration, commitment and is facilitating the acquisition of new knowledge and skills in students, as well as a positive influence on the relationship between student and teacher. The research is organized into two parts, the first one, which makes a theoretical framework resulting from the literature review and a second one that corresponds to the empirical study. The empirical study is the result of a research applied to students of the 8 th and 9 th grades of the viriato School - viseu and it is intended, with the findings presentedpromote in teachers an awareness of their practice, to conclude if the students an have active and motivating role in building of the learning process when using ict in the classroom.
