Foi objetivo deste trabalho avaliar as estruturas dentárias e observar as várias alterações quando sujeitas a diferentes temperaturas e ácidos. Foi realizado uma pesquisa bibliográfica preliminar com o objetivo de identificar o panorama geral sobre o tema de pesquisa. Para esse efeito, foram referenciados diversas fontes tais como artigos e livros. Com a realização desta dissertação conclui-se que o conhecimento das alterações das peças dentárias e dos materiais restauradores quando submetidos a diferentes factores por parte de um especialista, é de extrema importância para a identificação humana. Forensic dentistry is one of the areas which has contributed the most for human identification because teeth can resist to various adversities, remaining almost intact. The goal of this project was to evaluate dental structures and observe any alterations they may suffer when subjected to different temperatures and acids are applied to them. A preliminar bibliographic research was conducted so that identification of the general panorama on the subject could be done. To this end, various sources like books and articles have been referenced. With this study, is concluded that the knowledge about the changes of the teeth and restorative materials when subjected to different factors have a extremely importance to identify a person.
