Santos, Paula Isabel; Pinto, IsabelA Death anxiety scale (Das) de templer (1970) e a sense of simbolic immortality scale (ssis) de Drolet (1990) foram administradas a uma amostra de cento e trinta e nove (139) estudantes universitários, (58 rapazes e 81 raparigas) com idades compreendidas entre os 18 e os 30 anos. os resultados mostram uma correlação negativa entre o desejo de imortalidade simbólica e a ansiedade perante a morte, uma relação positiva entre idade e sentido de imortalidade simbólica, e maior ansiedade perante a morte no grupo das raparigas, esta diferença,com significância estatística. The Death anxiety scale (Das) by templer (1970) and the sense of simbolic immortality scale (ssis) by Drolet (1990) were administered to a sample of a hundred and thirty nine (139)university students (58 male students and 81 female students) with ages ranging from 18 to 30 years old. results demonstrated a negative correlation between the desire of symbolical immortality and anxiety facing death, a positive correlation between age and the sense of symbolic immortality and finally, statistical differences in gender concerning anxiety facing death, where females presented higher results in the Das scale.
- Potentiometric studies on the complexation of copper(II) by phenolic acids as discrete ligand models of humic substancesPublication . Borges, Fernanda; Guimarães, Carla; Lima, Jose L.F.C.; Pinto, Isabel; Reis, SaletteStudies on the complexation of copper(II) by phenolic acids, as ligand models of humic substances were done by potentiometry. The acids under study were: 3,4-dihydroxyhydrocinnamic acid or hydrocaffeic acid (1), 3,4-dihydroxyphenylacetic acid (2) and 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid or protocatechuic acid (3). Acidity constants of the ligands and the formation constants of metal-ligand complexes were evaluated by computer programs. The carboxylic group of the phenolic acids has different pK(a1) values, being the dissociation constants intrinsically related with the distance between the function and the aromatic nucleus. The results obtained allow concluding that acidity constants of the catechol moiety of the compounds are similar with pK(a2) and pK(a3) values between 9.47-9.41 and 11.55-11.70. The complexation properties of the three ligands towards copper(II) ion are quite similar, being the species found not different either in nature or stability. Although the model ligands have some structural differences no significant differences were found in their complexation properties towards copper(II). So, it can be postulated that complexation process is intrinsically related with the presence of a catechol group.

Pinto, IsabelA existência de uma colecção de mais de 200 textos de teatro manuscritos, conservada na Biblioteca Nacional de Portugal, constitui um testemunho riquíssimo para a História do Teatro Português. Os textos datados estendem-se por um período de dezassete anos, de 1780 a 1797. Muitos deles estão assinados no final, confirmando que António José de Oliveira foi o escriba profissional responsável pela quase totalidade das cópias. Trata-se de um corpus extenso e ecléctico, em que estão representados nomes ilustres das letras nacionais (António Ferreira, Alexandre António de Lima, Domingos dos Reis Quita, etc.) e estrangeiras (Goldoni, Metastasio, Gessner, Calderón de la Barca, etc.). Este corpus integra textos de condição ecdótica diversa, que colocam questões pertinentes do ponto de vista editorial. A este respeito, interessa-nos, sobretudo, determinar algumas das implicações da edição digital na sua abordagem.
