| dc.description.abstract | A longevidade é um dos temas da atualidade com maior relevância em todo mundo, seja nos contextos político, econômico, social e em saúde com grande impacto na qualidade de vida do indivíduo. Dentro das estratégias de prevenção do envelhecimento, a harmonização orofacial (HOF) têm merecido a maior atenção na comunidade científica mundial uma vez que a prática clínica em Medicina Dentária foca-se na unidade estética e funcional das estruturas orais e faciais, equilibrando-as e harmonizando-as. O envelhecimento, intrínseco ou extrínseco, é um processo lento e progressivo. As mudanças estruturais decorrentes do envelhecimento da face estão relacionadas com alterações que acometem diversas estruturas anatômicas e tecidos humanos e que resultam na perda de sustentação, alteração no contorno facial e formação de rugas. Objetivo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi analisar estas alterações faciais no terço inferior da face que ocorrem no processo de envelhecimento (por grupo etário definido) e avaliar se as alterações estruturais percebidas pelos pacientes através questionário de auto-percepção no contexto do envelhecimento da face feminina, estão relacionadas com os achados na telerradiografia de perfil e estudo fotográfico de cada participante para avaliação e classificação do envelhecimento, de acordo com parâmetros definidos. Resultados. Parâmetros cefalométricos e análise facial podem ser usados para identificar alterações causadas pelo envelhecimento facial. Conclusão. A cefalometria de tecidos moles e a análise facial são instrumentos importantes na determinação do grau de envelhecimento e fornecem referências necessárias para correção ou compensação da harmonia facial através da HOF. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Longevity is one of the most relevant current issues worldwide, whether in the political, economic, social and health contexts, with a significant impact on the individual's quality of life. Within the strategies for preventing aging, orofacial harmonization has deserved the greatest attention in the world scientific community, since clinical practice in Dentistry focuses on the aesthetic and functional unity of oral and facial structures, balancing and harmonizing them. Aging, whether intrinsic or extrinsic, is a slow and progressive process. Structural changes resulting from facial aging are related to alterations that affect various anatomical structures and human tissues and that result in loss of support, changes in facial contours and the formation of wrinkles. Objective. The objective of this work was to analyze these facial alterations in the lower third of the face that occur in the aging process (by defined age group) and to evaluate whether the structural alterations perceived by the patients through a self-perception questionnaire developed in the context of the aging of the female face, are related to the findings in the profile teleradiography and photographic study of each participant for evaluation and classification of aging, according to defined parameters. Results. Cephalometric parameters and facial analysis can be used to identify changes caused by facial aging. Conclusion. Soft tissue cephalometry and facial analysis are important instruments in determining the degree of aging and providing necessary references for correction or compensation of facial harmony through HOF. | pt_PT |
