Abstract(s)
As Interações Medicamentosas (IM) são frequentemente um motivo de recorrência as urgências e internamento hospitalar e podem constituir uma ameaça para o doente, quer nas situações em que o medicamento não produza o efeito farmacológico esperado, quer nas situações em que o medicamento produz efeitos tóxicos. Nestas últimas, as interações medicamentosas dizem-se clinicamente relevantes. Na prática de medicina dentária, algumas das classes farmacológicas mais prescritas são os anti-inflamatórios e os antibióticos. Estes medicamentos apresentam interações farmacológicas com diversas terapêuticas a que os pacientes estão sujeitos, interferindo por vezes com o perfil farmacológico corrente, alterando-o.
Considerando a relevância do uso de variados medicamentos em Medicina Dentária, este trabalho tem como objectivo efectuar uma revisão bibliográfica sobre as interações medicamentosas com relevância clinica, bem como a descrição dos mecanismos farmacológicos envolvidos.
Este trabalho consciencializa o médico dentista para uma correta análise risco/benefício do uso dos medicamentos de modo a prescrever a terapêutica mais adequada de acordo com o perfil farmacológico do paciente, na prática clinica diária.
Drug Interactions are often a reason for withdrawal and hospital admission and may pose a threat to the patient either in situations where the drug does not produce the expected pharmacological effect or in situations where the drug produces toxic effects. In the latter, drug interactions are said to be clinically relevant. Drug interactions are an important topic for the practice of dental medicine since they can occur frequently in the day to day. The adequate collection of drugs helps to reduce the possibilities of interaction that cause deleterious effects to the patient. Thus, the objective of this study was to determine the main drug interactions reported in the literature in dental practice using a literature review. It is up to the professional to make a correct anamnesis and analyze the potential interactions.
