Os tratamentos protéticos com facetas cerâmicas tornaram-se confiáveis para situações
clínicas simples ou complexas, graças a evoluções muitas importantes dos últimos 20 anos.
Além disso, a evolução das cerâmicas, permite a obtenção de uma estética minimamente
invasiva.
Esta revisão bibliográfica foca-se nas facetas cerâmicas, suas indicações e contra-indicações,
vantagens e desvantagens, propriedades e diferentes tipos de cerâmicas e tipos de preparação
dentária.
Para realização desta dissertação foi feita uma pesquisa bibliográfica nos sites da Pubmed,
Google Scholar, de 70 artigos compreendidos entre 1990-2017 e nos idiomas de francês,
português e inglês, tendo sido seleccionados 62 artigos.
Pode concluir-se que as facetas são um tratamento de escolha para os dentes anteriores com
alterações coronárias ou mal-posicionamentos que podem ser esteticamente desagradáveis. As
facetas cerâmicas representam uma alternativa segura, rápida, reversível e conservadora da
estética, da função e da biologia dos dentes.
Prosthetic treatments with related ceramics veneers have become reliable for simple or complex clinical situations, thanks to the very important developments of the last 20 years. Moreover, the evolution of ceramics, in particular their composition and their mechanical properties, made it possible to extend their medical indications. This literature review focuses on the ceramic veneers, medical indications and contraindications, properties, and different types of ceramics and dental preparations. For the accomplishment of this work, a bibliographic research was done with the following websites: Pubmed, google scholar of 70 articles between 1990-2017, have been selected 62 articles. It can be concluded that veneers are the elective treatment for the anterior teeth with coronary alterations or malpositions that can be aesthetically unpleasant. Ceramic veneers represent a safe, fast, reversible and conservative alternative to the aesthetics, function and biology of teeth.
