Abstract(s)
de lesões traumáticas”, “Luxação dentária”, “Dental trauma intrusion and extrusion”,
”Traumatic dental intrusion” e “Traumatic dental extrusion”.
Traumatic dental intrusion and extrusion are periodontal tissue injuries that cause great concern and require immediate observation. The existing treatment guidelines are a result of the consensual opinions of their members, whenever there isn’t scientific evidence. The main purpose of this literature review is to identify the factors over which the opinions diverge. The methodology consisted of a search conducted on databases Pubmed, Medline, Scielo and Google Scholar, with the use of the following key-words: “Oral trauma”, “Dental trauma guidelines”, ”Traumatic oral lesions”, “Etiology of traumatic lesions”, “Dental luxation”, “Dental trauma intrusion and extrusion”, “Traumatic dental intrusion” and “Traumatic dental extrusion”. In spite of an existing agreement pertaining treatment options for each situation, it was verified that age limits, waiting periods for the beginning of treatment, type of splint to be used and splinting times were the topics still in need of clarification.
