Objetivo: Realizar uma revisão da literatura sobre os fatores etiológicos da halitose na população pediátrica.
Metodologia: Para a elaboração desta revisão narrativa, foi efetuada uma pesquisa de artigos publicados nas bases de dados eletrónicas: B-on, PubMed, Cochrane, Web of Science e Lilacs, entre agosto e setembro de 2020. Dos artigos identificados foram selecionados 29 para a execução deste trabalho.
Tópico abordado: A halitose causa um grande desconforto quer para o indivíduo afetado como para aqueles com quem interage. É a terceira causa mais comum das consultas de medicina dentária e a sua etiologia é multifatorial, afeta indivíduos de todas as idades e de ambos os géneros. É importante identificar os seus fatores etiológicos, fazendo um correto diagnóstico para que se consiga implementar as melhores opções terapêuticas.
