Abstract(s)
Introduction: As time goes by, we begin to look for more knowledge, which leads to emigration to other countries that can offer improvement at an intellectual level. However, some types of disorders such as: stress, tiredness and lack of energy may be present due to living far from family, friends, and with cultures that are completely different from their native ones, which leads to the emergence of Burnout syndrome. Which is a state of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and decreased personal fulfillment, which can occur in professionals who are subjected to chronic stress at work, these being the main dimensions of burnout, according to Maslach & Leiter (2016). Objective: to analyze Burnout in foreign higher education students and the relationship between sociodemographic variables and this syndrome. Methods: A study was conducted with a quantitative methodology, with network sampling, where students were approached to complete the sociodemographic questionnaire and Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) scale, lasting 2 months of investigation. Results: A sample of a total of 39 foreign university students was used, of which 26 (66.7%) were women and 13 (33.3%) were men. The results indicated that students have low levels of burnout. Factors such as course year, marital status, physical activity and nationality did not affect the final result. Conclusion: The study shows that some students had a higher level of emotional exhaustion than others due to their quality of sleep and their level of personal realization. French students have higher levels of personal realization compared to students of other nationalities and students who use sleep medication have higher levels of depersonalization.
