Abstract(s)
Pediatric dentistry is an area that requires professionals to manage child patients in an appropriate and careful way. For this, several simple and advanced techniques have been developed in order to facilitate the control of pediatric pediatric behavior, among them, a widely used technique that is called: “Speaking-showing-doing” is included. Child behavior in the dentist's office is influenced by several factors including those of biological origin, but also psychological ones, such as anxiety disorders that can be caused from the materials to be used and oral cavity interventions or even by the parents' attitude during the consultation. Thus, even though it is difficult to predict how the child will act, it is essential to predict likely behaviors and understand how the patient should act in the face of the consultation, which he considers an uncomfortable situation. Therefore, it is justified to carry out this bibliographic review that allows explaining and evaluating the behavior control techniques of children in the dental medical office, with a focus on the “Talk-Show-Do” technique, so that the pediatric control is as appropriate as possible.
