A elaboração do artigo seguiu as diretrizes da extensão do PRISMA- ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) para Scoping Reviews.
Background: Mental health-promoting nursing interventions refer to the actions carried out by nurses to improve the psychological and emotional well-being of patients. In primary health care, these interventions aim to identify early signs of mental disorders, provide emotional support, and promote coping and resilience strategies. The relationship between nursing practices and mental health is essential for the prevention of mental illnesses and to improve the quality of life. This connection highlights the importance of nurses’ training and their direct interventions in the comprehensive and continuous care of patients. Aim: To map the existing scientific evidence on mental health-promoting nursing interventions in primary health care. Methodology: The selected studies contain information related to mental health promotion in primary health care. A bibliographic search was conducted in the following databases: PUBMED, CINAHL (via EBSCO), MEDLINE (via EBSCO), and PsycInfo (via EBSCO). The search was complemented through RCAAP. The study was registered on the Open Science Framework (OSF). The preparation of the article followed the guidelines of the PRISMA-ScR (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses extension for Scoping Reviews). Results: A total of 444 articles were found. After exclusions and screening, seven publications were included: One opinion article, two action research studies, two systematic reviews, and two integrative literature reviews. Conclusion: It was observed that nursing interventions in primary health care play a crucial role in promoting mental health, especially among vulnerable populations. The early identification of signs of mental disorders, combined with emotional support actions, contributes significantly to the prevention and treatment of these conditions. Such interventions have shown a positive impact on patients' mental health, improving their quality of life and reducing the risk of worsening psychosocial conditions.
