A presente monografia tem como objectivo fazer uma revisão literária sobre a reabilitação estética recorrendo à utilização de lentes de contato dentárias (facetas cerâmicas). Na concretização deste trabalho recorreu-se à biblioteca da Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Fernando Pessoa e a bases de dados online: Pubmed; Scielo; Science Direct; B-on e Google Académico sendo incluídas bibliografias em português, inglês e espanhol.
A crescente importância dada à imagem na sociedade actual na qual o sorriso tem um papel fundamental que funciona como expoente máximo e “cartão de visita” impactante que pode facilitar o sucesso a nível profissional, social ou mesmo pessoal. Assim um grau de exigência extremamente elevado na área odontológica de reabilitação. A melhoria na fixação (adesivo/ cimentação) permitiu a criação de peças restauradoras de espessuras mínimas como as lentes de contacto que revolucionaram o paradigma da medicina dentária.
This monograph aims to make a literary review on aesthetic rehabilitation using the use of dental contact lenses (ceramic facets). In the accomplishment of this work we resorted to the library of the Faculty of Sciences of the Health of the Fernando Pessoa University and the databases of online: Pubmed; Scielo; Science Direct; B-on and Google Scholar including bibliographies in Portuguese, English and Spanish. The growing importance given to the image in today's society in which the smile plays a fundamental role that works as a maximum exponent and impactful "business card" that can facilitate success at professional, social or even personal level. Thus, there is an extremely high degree of requirement in the dental rehabilitation area. The improvement in fixation (adhesive / cementation) allowed the creation of restorative pieces of minimal thicknesses such as contact lenses that revolutionized the paradigm of dental medicine.
